Media Lite Instructions

The Purpose of the Media Lite classroom to provide comprehensive connectivity without integration or a Blu-Ray DVD player.  The rooms will rely heavily on your computer (so please make make sure that your laptop has what you need to present (e.g. DVD player)  The classrooms have the following presentation resources:

  • VGA cable
  • HDMI cable
  • Air Media
  • Doc Camera
  • Laser Projector
  • iPad Mini for Control

Cable Connections

Overall, the system has the ability to turn on without pressing a button.  The laser projectors are new technology which will extend the maintenance life; adding stability and confidence to the room.

With the Media Lite system's iPad mini control system, you will be able to connect to present with:

  • VGA laptop
  • HDMI latop
  • Any device  that is compatible with Air Media
  • Document camers

You will also be able to control this using the iPad Mini:

  • Document camera (zoom in/out, etc)
  • Air Media
  • Volume
  • Standy mode for turning the system off
Laptop Instructions

TO GET STARTED with Laptop

Connecting directly to the system will result in the system automatically turn on.  Here is how:

  1. Make sure that your laptop is on
  2. connect the HDMI or VGA cable to the laptop (Johnson Center will only have an HDMI connection)
  3.  Projector will turn on and screen will come down.  You are ready to go.

OR

  1. Make sure that your laptop is on
  2. Press "VGA Laptop" (1) or HDMI Laptop (2)
  3. connect the VGA or HDMI cable to the laptop
  4. System will come on and you are ready to go

 

Air Media Instructions

TO GET STARTED with Air Media

  1. Make sure that your laptop is on
  2. Press "Air Media" (1)
  3. WAIT for the system to come on

You should see the To begin your presentation instructions on the displays.  Follow directions on the display, it will look similar to this:

*NoteThe address that you will put into the browser is a hostname address.  These names are specific to the room that you will be teaching in. It will look similar to the address that is provided above (http://AirMedia-01f8b0)

Air Media Disconnection

Please remember to disconnect from Air Media when you are done with the presentation.  If you do not, it is possible that your laptop content will remain on the screen until you disconnect from Air Media

Document Camera Instructions

TO GET STARTED with Doc Cam

  1. Press "Doc Cam"
  2. WAIT for the system to come on
  3. Displays should show the Doc Cam, if not make sure doc cam is on by pressing "ON" within the control menu options
  4. Doc Cam is ready to be used
  5. If control options are needed, you can have access to the on board buttons or the control options on the iPad mini:
    The control options on the iPad mini looks like this:

Document Camera Functionality:

  1. On/Off Use these buttons to turn the camera on and off
  2. Zoom In/Out Use these buttons to control the zoom of the camera
  3. Focus Controls Use these buttons to control the camera’s focus
  4. Lamp Controls Use these buttons to control the lamp
  5. Return Press this button to return to the main page of the touch panel
Other Functions

TO GET STARTED with Basic Controls

  1. Volume Bar Use these buttons to control the volume of the panel
  2. Standby Press this button to begin the standby procedure

  3. Document Camera Controls Press this button to open the controls for the document camera

  4. Settings Press this button to open up the settings page.

Once the STANDBY button is pressed, then you will enter the "Standby" confirmation page:

  1. Cancel / Standby Use these buttons to either cancel or complete the standby process. 

     **NOTE** If no action is taken, the system will automatically turn off in three minutes.

     

Advanced Controls

You can find advanced options by pressing the "Settings" button.  You will have the ability to toggle the powered of the display and control the projector screen:

  1. Projector Controls Use these buttons to manually turn the projector on and off.

  2. Screen Controls Use these buttons manually control the screen.

  3. Display  Press this button to open the display settings page.

  4. Standby  Press this button to begin the standby procedure.

  5. Close Press this button to close the settings page.
