Restoring Missing Teams Groups MacOS Teams App

These instructions are for restoring Teams than no longer appear in the MacOS Teams app after changes/upgrades to MacOS or Teams

  1. Open the Teams app and go to the Teams page (Left side menu) in the app. In this example, I am a member of 3 Teams groups, but only 2 are appearing in the app.

  2. Click on the ellipsis (three horizontal dots) at the top right of the Teams window, then click on the “Teams and channels” selection that pops up.

  3. The “Your teams and channels” window will open.

  4. At this point, open and log into Teams in the browser of your choice (Safari, Chrome, Firefox, etc.)

  5. Navigate to the Teams page (Left side menu), then click on the ellipsis in the Team that DOESN’T appear in your Teams app and select “Hide” from top of the popup menu.

  6. The Team you just “hid”, should now be listed in the “Hidden” teams in the main “Teams” window.

  7. Click on the ellipsis in the Team that you wish to show, then select “Show” at the top of the popup menu.

  8. Now, go back to the Teams application.

  9. Click the arrow at the top left of the “Your teams and channels” page

  10. When the “Teams” page opens, you should now see the Team that was previously hidden.

Note: The missing Team may appear in your Teams app at any time during this process.
