Phishing emails reported via the button will be investigated and blocked to keep the campus secure.  Emails will be returned to you if they are found to be legitimate, safe emails.

Reporting emails quickly using the PAB helps your coworkers. Often, dozens of North Park users are receiving (or about to receive) the same email. Once IT security team sees the report, we can confirm that the email is bad, block the sender, and delete it from everyone’s inbox. This can save your colleagues hours of time, as we can often delete emails before people spend any time on them.

Simulated Phishing tests

Emails similar to real attacks are periodically sent to employees to give us practice identifying and reporting malicious emails.

Once you decide an email is suspicious, your next step is reporting the email using the Phish Alert Button (PAB) in your Outlook email client.

We carefully vet the test emails. We don’t want to send a test that causes people unnecessary work. For example, we recently decided against sending a test email that claimed your “OneDrive space was full.” Some people might have spent time unnecessarily reviewing and deleting files from their OneDrive account before realizing the notice was false.
