About Macros and MacroExpress

A macro is a way to automate a task that you need to perform repeatedly or on a regular basis. It is a series of commands and actions that can be stored and run whenever you need to perform the task.

CARLI support for Macros

Although CARLI doesn't actually support or host MacroExpress, they provide an extremely helpful list of resources for setting up and using MacroExpress.

Shared Macros at North Park

North Park's copy of MacroExpress is found on the Q drive in the shared Tech services folder (Q:\Tech services).  It is licensed to North Park University and the activation code is can be found in the "Macro License" text file in the same folder. The shared Macro file is called TS - Shared Macros.mex and should be the default macro file for all TS computers.

A guide to North Park's macros is maintained here Cataloging Macros Cheat Sheet. However, this list only lists those macros with keyboard shortcuts that can be activated and used during routine library work. More complicated macros are accessible only though MacroExpress itself and should have notes and remarks within the macro file regarding notes and purpose.
